June 25, 2011 - "Home Security: Securing Doors" By Ira A. Lipman. The easiest way for someone to enter your home is simply to open an unlocked door. In fact, this is the way that many houses are illegally entered. Very few families take the number one precaution of locking exterior doors at all times, whether someone is at home or not. Children who are in and out of the house all day leave doors unlocked, as do people who step next door for a neighborly visit. Click here
June 25, 2011 - "Home Security: Securing Windows" By Ira A. Lipman. The primary aim of window precautions is to secure permanently every window that is not needed for ventilation. Windows that are used for ventilation or as an emergency exit, particularly those on the ground floor, should be secured by the installation of key-operated locks, which are easily available from hardware stores and locksmiths. June 24, 2011 - "Mexican troops cross into the United States at Bridge Two" By KGNS News. June 24, 2011 - "Two Way Radios and Their Role in Disaster Preparedness" By Jeffery K Hunt. One of the most difficult tasks to perform after weather related disasters is communication to your emergency contacts, family and friends. Land based telephone lines may be damaged or inoperable. Cellular towers may have been toppled or destroyed. Even if the towers endure the storm, these systems may be jammed with thousands of concerned calls to loved ones in the disaster area. Click here

These deserts are known for their inadequate rainfall, high temperatures, strong winds, and intense evaporation. Unless you are in the gambling city of Las Vegas, Nevada, being unprepared in these living conditions are fatal. Click here

There are so many survival scenarios that might crop up that no one firearm can be expected to handle every contingency better than all its peers. But you can tailor your personal “bug-out” guns to the situations you’re most likely to encounter, whether it’s in the Brooks Range in Alaska or in the dark hallways of your house in the dead of night. Common to all survival guns, however, is the need for rugged dependability, and by that standard the firearms listed here measure up. Click here

June 15, 2011 - "Grand ol’ Granola" By Joseph Parish. One of my favorite types of breakfast foods has always been Granola. All around America and the world an early morning meal of Granola is blissfully enjoyed by many every day of the year. The problem with the usual ingredients often found in this cereal such as honey, nuts, and rolled oats or occasionally rice is that it can be rather boring right from the package. Granola is particularly favored by campers, hikers and preppers as it is high in calories, lightweight and stores easily for a long period of time. Click here
