Bring it on!

Are you knowledgeable enough to survive an emergency situation? When was the last time that Delmarva area had major hurricanes with its damaging winds and torrential flooding? Would you know what to do in the event of a hurricane? How would you prepare for a possible violent storm? How would you keep your family members safe if a flood were to hit our area? Would you be able to help your neighbors in the event of an emergency situation?
If you are not too sure of the answers to the above questions then we may be able to help you. Those questions as well as many more can be answered at the upcoming Seaford Delaware Riverfest on July 11th. We will be setting up a booth at the awareness fair currently being organized for this annual Seaford activity. The fair will take place on July 11th from 9 AM to 7 PM. Delmarva Survival Training is hoping to have a small booth at the location and we will be providing free of charge emergency preparedness pamphlets that may perhaps someday save your life.
The annual Riverfest activities attract many area families and individuals from Delaware, Maryland and Virginia each year for this three day event of fun filled activities and the dissemination of practical and useful information. It is one of those times where you can get out and visit with friends and people you havenít seen for the past year plus meet many new faces as well. You can readily get to known some of the local businesses as they participate in the various activities that are being offered.
While the actual focus of our booth is on general survival during any type of emergency it is important that our people now realize that we are approaching the start of the hurricane season. In the past we have been very fortunate in not having experienced a hurricane in this area but there is no telling how long our luck will hold out. It is therefore much better to be prepared then sorry. Delmarva Survival Training is a not for profit organization that provides training and related information for the purpose of preparing people to take care of themselves during an emergency or crisis situation. Amongst the many pages on the web site are training sessions that teach everything from use of fire extinguishers to what one can do when confronted by terrorists?
We are firm believers that everyone should be ready for any emergency and as such we are readily available to advise you on the construction of emergency kits tailored to meet your specific needs. Families should be prepare with kits that contain necessary supplies such as a first aid kit, canned foods, medications, can opener, one gallon of water per person daily for up to seven days, clothing and a host of other important items. If youíre not prepared we can help you get ready. If you are an area resident be sure to stop by and say hello. We will be glad to talk to you on any concerns you may have about survival, emergency and safety.
